Friction Fire Demonstration - by George Looney

This is all ya need to start a fire, the spindle and hearth board is made of Yuca, alot of other nonresinous wooods will work such as cottonwood.

The tender here is Red Cedar bark, rolled up like a rats nest.

This is how the bow is used on the spindle, primitive man would have used a rawhide string for this, Nylon last longer tho.

here we have smoke,,even just after a few pumps on the bow.

We have Spark...We have Spark.

The ember is then placed inside the tender,,and BLOW !

Just blow till...Poof !!! FIRE this is alot of fun to do. Gran yungins just love it. enjoy

Arrowheads1 would like to sincerely thank George Looney for this contribution.
